TFA, The Finishing Academy, is a soccer training program based in Midland and Odessa, Texas. We focus on youth soccer development, offering a comprehensive approach that includes finishing, technical skills, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and mental resilience. Our philosophy is to cultivate well-rounded players both on and off the field. TFA offers year-round training for players of all levels, from advanced athletes refining their skills to beginners learning the basics. TFA has also partnered with Apex Legacy Academy! The high-performance program is designed for athletes who are intending to play soccer in college.

Hiram brito & Joey van den Nieuwenhof
Directors and Trainers, TFA
Joey and Hiram grew up playing the beautiful game. Having immersed themselves in soccer growing up, they understand the physical and mental demands being a young athlete. Having coached over 7 years together, they have seen success on and off the pitch with the players and teams they have developed. Thier mission is to bring high level development and impactful opportunities to West Texas. Being both players and coaches, they channel their enthusiasm and energy into fostering soccer growth within the community.

Carla tejas
Director, Apex Legacy Academy
Carla Tejas is a former professional soccer player and proud member of the Chilean National Team, representing Chile in the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup held in Trinidad and Tobago. After an accomplished playing career, Carla transitioned into coaching, making a significant impact at the collegiate level in the United States. She served as head coach at Louisiana Christian University, Louisiana State University at Alexandria, and the University of Texas Permian Basin. At UTPB, she broke multiple records, including coaching the first All-Region player in school history, most goals and assists in a single season, and UTPB most wins in the Lone Star Conference.
Throughout her coaching career, Carla has recruited and coached national team players from Uruguay, Cyprus, and Costa Rica, demonstrating her commitment to developing elite talent from around the world. Her time at Louisiana Christian and LSU Alexandria earned her Coach of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year honors, along with two regular-season titles, a conference championship, and a national tournament appearance.

Trainer, TFA
Nana was born In Ghana. He's been in the states for almost 10 years. He played at Sul Ross State university. He also got the opportunity to play semi pro at the UPSL level with Odessa united while he was in college and developed a deep passion for the game. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, where he had the opportunity to work with athletes at various levels. His focus is on player development, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game. He is excited to bring his experience and energy to help these athletes grow both on and off the field!

Marco medina
Trainer, TFA
Marco is from El Paso, Texas. He is currently the head coach for two club teams in West Texas. He had the privilege to play at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana and at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. His goal is to build confident, strong-charactered players who are coachable, prioritize being a good teammate, and are ready to take their athletic and academic career to the next level.
